The Way Home

Sharen and her cousin Alma are now on their way home together.

As some of you may know, Sharen and her cousin, Alma, are now driving back home via Spokane, Arizona, and Texas to visit friends and relatives along the way. Sharen's dear friend, Alice, recently shared this humorous e-mail, which was posted by Sharen the morning of October 30th:

Alma & I stopped in a little town that has a few motel rooms. We had 2 single beds, so Bud took more than his half! We had the loudest neighbors & paper thin walls, so it was not the best of nights.

We walked up to the cafe for breakfast and both ordered omelets. I had a veggie one without mushrooms & Alma ordered a Western. I wanted tea, but they didn't have any hot water. Alma had coffee.

The cook brought our omelets out to our table and asked who gets which breakfast. We both looked at each other and neither one of us could remember.

The cook asked, "Did you order 2 omelets," and we said "Yes." She said, "One doesn't have mushrooms," so I responded, "That's mine."

She then proceeded to ask "Where are you going?" We replied, "Ohio via a few other interim stops.

She said, "Are you driving?" We said, "Yes" and she sort of gasped.

She said, "Are you well rested?" We said, "Yes, we spent the night here." Alma added that we had really noisy neighbors.

Then Alma points out to the road and asks, "Which way do we go, right or left?" The cook then points to the direction we already knew we were going, and heads back to the kitchen!

As soon as we got out of the restaurant, Alma & I just cracked up. We figured she's already sent out an alert to the Royal Canadian Police that we are heading South!!!

So, if we call you collect from some local jail in British Columbia, please take the call!!!

When are we going to get there???

Do you think we should hop a ride with a trucker instead of these loonies?
